NTI 2019 Advanced 12 Lead ECG Interpretation Pre-Conference

This advanced ECG program is designed for advanced practice nurses and registered nurses with a foundational knowledge of the 12 lead ECG. The content includes advanced concepts in the recognition of early and subtle injury and ischemia including vectors of ischemia, conduction abnormalities, hypertrophy and chamber enlargement, early repolarization, myocardial mimics, changes associated with electrolyte abnormalities and drug effects, congenital long QT, Brugada syndrome, Wolff Parkinson White, and use of the ECG in advanced rhythm interpretation.

Updates from the six part American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Heart Rhythm Society Recommendations for Standardization and Interpretation of the Electrocardiogram are integrated into the program.

NTI 2019 Cardiovascular Pharmacology Boot Camp

This boot camp is designed with a patient centered, physiological approach to cardiovascular pharmacology. The physiological rationale for cardiovascular drugs is linked with guideline recommendations from the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association.

Medications are linked to key populations including atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and acute coronary syndrome and cardiogenic shock. Specific agents include beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, renin angiotensin aldosterone system medications, diuretics, antiarrhythmics, inotropes, vasodilators, vasoconstrictors, and antiplatelet/anticoagulant agents. This session integrates current clinical trial data, physiology, and patient characteristics when discussing implications for prescribing, administering, and evaluating effectiveness of medications.

A case study approach is utilized to enhance clinical decision making, patient safety and advocacy issues relevant to cardiovascular pharmacology.
